Summer Missions Trip to Arizona
June 21-26, 2009
In 2009, the Youth will be taking a mission trip to the Navajo Reservation in Window Rock and/or Fort Defiance, Arizona. This particular trip is open to senior high as well as junior high youth members. More specifically, it is open to those who are entering the 7th grade in the fall to those who are exiting the 12th grade in the spring. There may also be a need for an extra chaperone or two depending on the number of kids going, so keep those calendars open! This is sure to be a fun and enlightening experience for all who attend.
During
this six day trip the youth members will experience growth through missions,
daily devotions, and fellowship. The mission is split in two sections. For two
of the days the youth members will be spending time with the children of the
reservation in a program known as Kids Club. For the other two days, the youth
will be involved in minor house work.
The benefits of a mission trip are endless. Through such an experience, youth
gain perspective and knowledge of others and themselves while having a great
time. Most importantly, they are helping others (one of the best ways to share
God's love).
