Karl Stuckenberg, Head Pastor
Pastor Karl Stuckenberg has been doing this long enough to know that the best sermons often start with a story, the best lessons happen in community, and the best faith is lived out with your hands and feet in mission.
Ordained in 1996 after graduating from Claremont School of Theology, Pastor Karl brings more than 35 years of ministry experience in local United Methodist churches across Southern California. His passion is simple: helping people discover the love of God through preaching, storytelling, and a deep conviction that the Bible is anything but boring. Whether he is leading a camp, digging into Scripture, or creating spaces where people can connect, grow, and serve, he believes the best version of faith is always lived out together.
Pastor Karl is also husband to Kristen and dad to Kayla and Kendal, and he loves spending time with them. When they are busy, he might be attempting a home improvement project that justified the purchase of yet another power tool. He might also be found playing the drums, which he has done for more than 40 years, from performing in cover bands and recording with friends to leading worship in churches. Otherwise, he is likely walking their border collie, Jake, whose lifelong dream is to herd sheep and whose energy level suggests he has been training for it since birth.

Emily Bredthauer, Director of Program Ministries
Emily Bredthauer has been active in ministry for the past 20 years and currently serves as the Director of Program Ministries at St. Andrew's.
One of Emily's greatest joys is seeing people connect meaningfully with God and with one another through community. She has a master’s degree in social work with an emphasis on children and families and is training to become a spiritual director.
Emily and her husband of more than 25 years, Greg, have four children who keep them on their toes. She loves God, reading, traveling, new experiences, dark chocolate, listening to others tell their stories, and plants, especially those that do not require too much maintenance.

Carys Mulligan, Director of Children's Ministries
Carys Mulligan leads Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at St. Andrew's. She is currently studying art education and brings that background into her ministry, finding creative ways to use art and hands-on learning with children. She connected with the church through Pastor Karl at Lazy W Ranch, where she works as a camp counselor and has been a camper since second grade.
Outside of church, Carys enjoys hiking, camping, surfing, and making pottery. She is glad to be part of the St. Andrew's family and is committed to walking alongside children and their families as they grow in faith.

She has worked with children from infancy through high school for the past eight years and is passionate about creating connections and building community.
Outside of church, Masie enjoys going to the beach, practicing yoga, cooking, and hiking. She loves working with the youth of St. Andrew's and helping them experience what God's love is all about.

Jens Hurty, Director of Music
Jens Hurty has been involved in music all of his life. The son of two choral directors, he grew up singing and playing piano from a young age. In high school, Jens realized his passion for choral music and decided to pursue a career in choral conducting after meaningful choral experiences in the Illinois All-State Honors choir during his junior and senior years.
Jens graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Music Education and Vocal Performance. For the past four years, Jens has been the full-time Associate Choir Director at Yorkville High School in Yorkville, IL teaching four choirs and piano class. Insuk Lyu, Accompanist
Insuk Lyu accompanies the choir and worship services at St. Andrew's. She was born in Korea, earned her master's degree in Russia, lived in Italy for a time, and then immigrated to the United States.
When she is not at the piano, Insuk teaches lessons, spends time with her two daughters and her cat, Sophie, or visits art museums and explores new places. One of her favorite things is driving at sunset while listening to jazz.

Will Ferguson, Worship Leader
Will Ferguson leads the Praise Band each Sunday with enthusiasm and expertise. He loves working with the wonderfully talented musicians in the band at St. Andrew’s, helping select music for worship services, and seeing the congregation sing, clap, and dance along on Sunday mornings. He has been a student of music since the third grade, studied it in college, and still considers himself a student today.
Will and his wife, Erin, have been happily married since 2003. They have three awesome children, Ellie, Katie, and Mark, who make them laugh every day.

Aimee Mauss, Church Administrator
Aimee Mauss keeps the St. Andrew's office and campus running smoothly while helping make sure people feel welcome and cared for. She came to church administration after years in Silicon Valley startups and corporate support roles, which turned out to be surprisingly good preparation.
Aimee and her husband Ed have a blended family with five adult children and two thoroughly spoiled dogs. In her free time, she enjoys estate sales, family time, and carrying on her family's tradition of making homemade lefse.
